British Airways flies from London Heathrow and Gatwick, easyJet from Gatwick, Luton, Bristol, Manchester and Edinburgh, and Jet2.com from many regional airports including Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Newcastle and Glasgow. Ryanair and Wizz Air also serve the area, sometimes using nearby Treviso rather than Marco Polo. At Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE)

Marco Polo lies about 13 km (8 miles) north of Venice at Tessera, and no roads reach the historic centre, so you travel on by water or bus. The Alilaguna water bus crosses the lagoon to stops including Murano, Fondamente Nove and San Marco in around 60 to 90 minutes. ATVO and ACTV express buses reach Piazzale Roma, on the edge of the old city, in about 20 to 25 minutes, where you pick up a vaporetto or walk to your hotel. Private water taxis are fast but expensive. Treviso Airport (TSF), used by some low-cost flights, is roughly 40 km away with a direct bus to Piazzale Roma.
